'Cultural Marxism'

'Cultural Marxism' is a conspiratorial agenda alleged to determine Western culture. This hence appears to represent an 'adapted' form of Marxism. It is a common bête noire in entrenched alt-right groupings.

It can hence seem akin to a mere over-dramatic accusation using 'Marxism' as a pantomime villain, therefore a form of merely continuing prejudice around the Cold War and Marxism. However, speaking of a 'cultural Marxist establishment' is not altogether misled. As 'Marxism' has taken on a form more in keeping with 'establishment' liberalism, it has also tended to avoid 'dry' economic issues in favour of 'cultural' and social justice issues favoured by liberalism. It would be valid to remark that this is not 'Marxism' in a strict sense, and is more akin to a variant of liberalism. After all, don't several Marxist political parties fall in line and support liberal parties like the Demorats in elections? However, this also raises the question of how and why Marxist categories are quickly repurposed to serve the agenda of the powerful liberal elite.

'Cultural Marxism' often overstates the influence of 'Marxist ideology' in upholding the mores of Western capitalism. Marxism is merely a set of vague ideas, and the world order cannot be based on mere talk. However, it is nonetheless true that a 'cultural' and demographic-focused use of Marxist tropes and rhetoric has come to entrench itself somewhat in the Western liberal establishment. Instead of being an actual opposition, Marxist rhetoric now springs easily from the womb of liberal capitalism. This suggests that Marxist ideas have ultimately originated from capitalistic concepts, and exist in a symbiotic relationship with capitalist ideology rather than truly opposing it. As a result, Marxism is not truly revolutionary.

Further information on comments

Please format all responses to this post with 'Historical — materialism —' at the opening, followed by your post. Try to have your post be something suitably rock-'n'-roll. The em-dashes are to convey the sheer historic nature of your historical materialism, of course. As the more prescient among you might have realised.

For example, some sample comments:

"Historical — materialism — You soul will feel my blade, stormbringer."

"Historical — materialism — Forces of darkness, the time has come to rawk."

"Historical — materialism — We'll be walking through leaves, when summer's gone we'll carry on."

"Historical — materialism — Assemble at once, tonight we ride!"

"Historical — materialism — Death lurks in the night."

"Historical — materialism — Sing a song of death or glory, sing a song of spite."

Hopefully by the end of this progression we will end up at some grand conclusion.

Although reader interaction can be good, sometimes we must set certain limits on it to make it genteel and respectable.

So please keep your Hitler salutes, etc., to another post where they are more welcomed. This post will  hopefully show how carefully we moderate such sentiments on this page.

Genocide in action (is much better) [satire]

Despite its many flaws, fascist movements have often had the leftist virtue of action. They have murdered, declared wars and organised death camps. As leftists, we must no doubt applaud all of this. Otherwise we would not be true socialists. We would be something else - fascists, for instance. Although we object to fascism, their going ahead and killing people - which is what they believe in - is a good thing and much better than any alternative. If we are to have any criticism of 'National Socialists,' it is that they do not call themselves instead, 'Cosmic socialists,' for the indeed colossal size of their socialism.

Hipster Nazism, in point of its beliefs, is essentially correct - it doesn't believe in much, and is into Nazism for its admittedly sophisticated aesthetic. However, they ought to go further and kill people on this vague basis. As long as people kill others, what does it matter what they believe or why they do this? Blind faith is such a positive spur, that all communists should be Catholics and vice versa. Instead of asking whether we like a pet, we should commit bestiality. And possibly hope for the best. Instead of considering drugs, poisons and so on, we should do them - and then be too incapacitated to determine things anyway. Forgive us if this sounds like an advertisement for the WWE or a dicey product.

Hence, although humans often act consciously, we must follow the character in Dracula and profess a communism of sleep-walking. Then they could admittedly murder people, but in their sleeping actions they are truly communist. Although capitalism is a society centred around the 'hope' of indefinite monetary accumulation and ever-increasing acquisition, it requires as its concomitant a 'socialism' and Church that wishes piously for all of these hopes to occur. Yet some of them cannot - they are caught up in contradictions, and once enacted undermine themselves. However, communism resides where actions fail, not where they succeed. We must hence abandon communism for cheerleading - and indeed many 'socialists' would wish to be major capitalists or capitalist spokesmen 'in practice.' But they are hemmed in from this latter aim by something else, whatever you may wish to call it. Hence, it is against this other element that they have declared a Crusade. Then it need be no surprise that the Labour Party supported the Iraq War - it was enacted with a fervent lack of consideration. Some would say that it was a 'sophism' in favour of a given class or nation, which is their right; others that it was disorganised. Yet it seems then that New Labour are the true 'socialists.'

A Poetic take on Modern Marxism

Flower Power + Electricity = ?

The path the breeze follows
across the early-morning fields
completes a circuit,
and the shocking indigo daisies
lie just above the careful daffodils,
like a robe in different phases.
The way the all-encompassing
red sunlight scars them is a sign,
like a star above them,
and the red birds come out to sing.
They sing a while, and then move on.
The black shape of circling eagles
turns on in the sky, open eyes
staring down for blood.
They circle on like stonehenge,
as the field is blown this way and that.
After all prayers and propitiations,
what remains of earth and sky is a sacrifice.
